Rakaia Salmon Run is a multisport event that takes place annually in Rakaia in the month of October.
The event offers something for everyone both of a competitive or non-competitive nature. Along with team events and individual events.
The Rakaia area is rich in agriculture and a paradise for running, mountain biking and multisport events as well as other outdoor recreationists.
The Salmon Run offers a platform to enable this and bring people together from near and far.
Rakaia River Fishing Promotions have been running a Salmon Fishing Competition since 1983 which makes us the most successful freshwater fishing competition and the only salmon fishing competition in New Zealand.
